Not much happened over the weekend. However, I went out for dinner last night to Naples 45. It's near the Grand Central Station, and the food is absolutely delicious. You have a choice of eating outside or inside. It was humid out last night so we decided to dine inside. Not many tourists were there, which is nice (not that I usually mind them), mostly business people since it was about after work time.

Then did some usual shopping. Bought some high-waisted jeans for ten bucks haha. It was definitely a good deal. It's a skinny jean cut, but with a sailor high-waisted style. It stretches too so it feels comfortable in all the right places. I ran out of money after that since I paid for dinner & dessert. Spent about $85 in one night. I'm definitely going shopping again next week though to buy some new pairs of heels.

I recently bought a Mac laptop for college, and I got the free iPod Touch with it. I absolutely love it. It's now my new favorite thing besides my cell phone, the LG Vu. I love the touch screens on both haha.

Anyways, I updated my page look. I got bored of the other background. I also added a playlist which you can listen to above. I haven't added that many songs to it yet, but at least there's something you can now listen to :)

Before, I write about my last day. I just want to say I had the worst time last night while coming home from work. The 7 train was running so SLOW. There was some signal problem at Shea Stadium that made all the subway traffic lights SUPER slow. It was horrible. We were at Times Square for like 30 minutes, and when we got to Grand Central we stopped again! We were there for like 20 minutes. I was going crazy, especially since it was so packed with people. I couldn't even feel the AC anymore, just everyone's body heat. It was gross. Usually, my commute from work to home takes about an hour or less. I didn't get home until over two hours later!

Anyways, my last day of the internship was great. I had a blast throughout July. I met some of the coolest people ever, and I just loved the whole experience. I definitely learned a lot. And Kathlin, if you're reading this, I just want to say Thank You so much for this experience. I'll definitely spread the word about your beautiful designs!

Speaking of Kathlin's beautiful designs, I was allowed to have a dress for free, and it is so lovely. I'll probably post pictures up of me in it one day.

About less than 3 weeks left until I start college!

lower east side<3

It was my relatives' (from California) last day in New York. I took them to west village, brought my friend Alexis with me. Had a blast, as always. Went shopping at Trash & Vaudeville, Search & Destroy, Laila Rowe, Wet Seal, Strawberry, Urban Outfitters, etc. We walked our way from West Village to the Lower East side. It started pouring and it was raining so we took a break at Whole Foods. I'm pretty sure I saw Audrey Kitching, but I didn't say anything. Then went to Union Square, one of my other favorite places to be. Ate dinner at Max Brenner, one of the coolest places to eat. Cheesecake was definitely delicious. Then stopped by Strand to buy a couple of books. Great day/night yesterday.
Cheesecake.

My aunts, cousin, uncle, Alexis, Me

Today was pretty nice too. I only have two more days working at my internship =/ Time goes by pretty fast. At least I have the French Breakfast, courtesy of Alexandre, on Wednesday to look foward to :)

So, my relatives are visiting from California. I was just letting them see Central Park, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. While walking back to the subway, I see that they're filming for season 2 of Gossip Girl!!! It was on 86st and Madison Ave inside a small cafe. I swear, it was a HUGE crowd of girls and a few guys, haha.
Apparently, Chace Crawford or Ed Westwick weren't in there =/ but Leighton Meester was! I saw her walk in, but she was covering her face with a scarf and she walked into the cafe so quickly, it was hard to snap a picture. We all stood there, waiting for them to finish so we can see who else was inside. (They made us wait a certain distance away. Obviously they don't want fans screaming through the window while filming lol) Waited about 40 minutes, and nothing yet. I talked to the security guard for awhile. He was saying how he doesn't really watch the show so he doesn't know the character names, and that he doesn't know how long they'll be inside the cafe. He did say that after that location, they were moving to different other locations. I wanted to wait for awhile longer, but I felt bad about my relatives there waiting for me.. since they don't really watch the show & I'm supposed to be giving a tour of the city because they're only here until Monday. So I left reluctantly, mostly because Chace or Ed weren't there, I was slightly okay with it lol.

I was watching the new the other day, and there was a report about kids getting burned from the playground mats. They were mostly showing the soles of the feet. The parents were complaining about it all... but couldn't they at least give them sandals, flip flops, or shoes to wear?! So dumb.

Anyways, the internship has been going pretty good. Only 3 days left =/ I'm supposed to go in today but I didn't feel so good this morning. Yesterday was cool; I finally experienced being her personal assistant for like 20-30 minutes while she was fitting somebody into a dress. Although the customer felt a little faint in between so we took a break, gave her water & something to eat.
After work, I went to a korean/american fused restaurant in the city called Bann, with my cousin. I've never tried Korean food before. It was actually pretty good. And our waiter was pretty cute (;

Okay well, so I've been having a lot of fun working my internship so far. We just got a newer intern so I don't feel like the newest anymore =] Although, I'm still the youngest. lol Anyways, back to what I'm trying to say. I was walking from a fabric/pattern shop back to the studio. On my way... just guess who I saw walk by me! Ricky from Project Runway. Me & the new intern, Amanda, just stop dead in our tracks (still holding the hanger pole & other things) and watch him just walk by us until we couldn't see him anymore. Haha, it was like we were hypnotized for a second.
Also because he was walking towards us so we weren't really sure it was him until he got close. We definitely recognized him from his hat lol. We wanted to go after him to say Hi and all that. But we didn't get to. Oh well. New season of Project Runway starts tonight!

Anjali & Me.
Me & Sara.

On Friday, it was my college orientation. I had a lot of fun; met a lot of great people. We took our placement tests, picture IDs, and we all went bowling after. We went to this chic place, Bowlmor Lanes. They had big, comfy chairs instead of those hard, plastic ones at usual places. Everything was carpeted except for the lanes of course. It was fun even though most of us suck at bowling, haha.
what we came for =]
Jesus & Me.

Yesterday, I had some lunch with some friends at the Amity Restaurant. We all ordered a different type of burger (I had the pizza burger) and we all deluxed it. Then we went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to check out the superhero exhibit. The last time I went, the friends I were with had no interest in art whatsoever, so I didn't get a chance to get a good look last time. So I'm glad I got to go back. Then, we checked out the rest of the museum even though we all probably seen it before. We chilled at Central Park after.

Bon Jovi was throwing a free concert there; so it was majorly packed. We didn't want to wait hours to see him; plus we were probably too late to get a good place in line by the time we were in that area. Well, we kinda knew about it before we went to the museum but we still didn't want to stand and wait all day just to see him at night. We got some ice cream at Tasty D-Lite instead.

So, guys, it's been awhile. Been kind of tired after work - lazy too lol. And it's been crazy hot, I'm glad today was better, still warm but breezy. Played some tennis with Freida, even though the courts were all taken by some tennis camps for little kids. So we played on the side.
Me fixing clothes.

Me cutting fabric.
Not much new at work has been happening. I definitely wish there was another AC in the back room since it can become pretty warm in there; definitely do not feel the AC from the front room. lol Finally finished the binders which took about 3 and a half work days to complete. The days have been going by fast though, and tomorrow is my LIM orientation already!

I'm so nervous for the placement tests since I haven't taken math in about one and a half years since I finished math in high school when I was a junior. I'm afraid I might be forgetting simple things.. but I'm definitely studying those practice exams online on the website.
Although part of the itinerary is to go bowling - which I completely suck at, haha. Should be fun if we all suck too lol.

So what's everyone's plans for today?
I'm probably just having a family barbeque, and watching fireworks in my backyard, which some neighbors set up - before the police come haha. (It's pretty much illegal to do it here in New York, but a lot of people do it anyway) I'll probably also watch the Macy's Fireworks on tv, even though I could probably actually be there but that means I would have to start heading there now and waiting for like 10 hours if I want a good spot. I never actually been there before. Maybe next year.

So yesterday was my first day working as an intern for a bridesmaid designer, Kathlin Argiro. It was busy yesterday; I was sent to a bunch of places - Staples to buy a new ink cartridge, the bank to deposit a check, a place to cut fabric for specific colors, etc. Everyone else working there is so nice and chill, I'm liking everyone's vibe.
Today, she made me & two other girls work on a project dealing with her binders filled with info, like fabric swatches, different silhouettes, styles, order forms, etc. We had to do five binders, but a lot of stuff were missing so we had to look for fabric, or print stuff out. It actually took longer than I expected, we still aren't done actually lol. We managed to complete two of them, with another one being 99% done.
I'm definitely liking it so far =]

Well, first let me explain. My high school is known for doing community service. Mostly because they make us complete at least 200 hours for doing something good in the community & also because it looks good on our transcripts for college. So anyways, I chose Jib Lanes, a bowling alley. I help and cheer on mentally retarded adults.
It would only happen every Sunday morning, for a couple of hours. But I would stay and hang out with other students who were also volunteering. This is where the Jib Crew happened =] We would seriously talk about anything, even if it would get too personal haha. Guys would crack jokes on each other and what not.
Anyways, since it was only 200 hours we had to do, I started in my sophomore year. So basically by junior year I was done, and I haven't seen this group together in over a year, so decided on a little reunion =]

We went to see Get Smart, it was funny but I expected a little more. It was good overall though. Then went to Applebees for dinner, visited a friend at Haagaz Daz, and just walked around for awhile. It was fun =]

Yesterday was my high school graduation =] Had to be at the theatre by 730am, even though the ceremony starts at 9. Tears almost came once I heard Pomp and Circumstance going down the aisle, but I stopped myself since I didn't want red, puffy eyes when I went up to get my diploma. If I cried, I probably couldn't stop. Although I cried at last year's graduation. I was in the audience then, but I felt a lot closer to the class of 2007 since I was always in their classes because I was ahead of my class.
Anyways, it was a blast, and I really am going to miss everyone. But I'm definitely going to keep in touch with those who really did make an impact in my life.

P.S. More pictures may be found on my photos page.

It was pretty short. Kinda early in the morning. Most people overslept, didn't feel good, or had to work so didn't work out so well. But at least 10 of us made it. Food was good at the Palace Diner. Or maybe it was because I was hungry lol. Got the Tennis Division Champion Medals today too. I spoke to our coach and told him to pick them up and surprise everyone with them.

Now, I'm free for the rest of the day so I'm probably going to end up watching Wimbledon on ESPN or something lol. (:

Hey everyone! This is my site, Audrey Allure. I made this mostly so I could blog.

So, here's just a little something about me. Obviously my name is Audrey. I live in New York City & I will be attending LIM for fashion merchandising & fashion publishing in just a couple of weeks. I recently interned for a bridge dress designer, Kathlin Argiro. I had the best time and definitely one of the cool experiences I've had. I was the co-leader & co-creator of the Fashion & Design Club at my high school. I was also tennis captain, and involved in many other activities such as Prom Committee, National Honor Society, art club, etc. So I'm a big geek. But I love being one. =] I love art and visiting museums, and getting that whole culture shock once in awhile. I spend a lot of time in different places in the city [Manhattan for you non-New Yorkers]. Shopping and sketching are just a couple of my hobbies. I like to read, and I do have my fair share of gossip. I love all types of music and movies. My favorites have to be alternative rock, underground bands, and Molly Ringwald, Adam Sandler, and James McAvoy movies.

Things that interest me: jamba juice, rickysNYC, proenza schouler, tennis, city nightlife, chain necklaces, huge stunna shades, this awkward silence, boys like girls, paramore, london, calvin klein one summer perfume, leopard flats, carmine's, urban outfitters, nylon, designer's showrooms, funky wigs, juicy couture, steve madden, barneys, trench coats, old school stereos/boomboxes, texting, mini dresses, boys, central park, the metropolitan museum of art, greenwich village, fashion events/shows
